Bionicon Tyke
What trail riders have been dreaming of, Bionicon has now finally realised. The Bionicon Tyke doesn’t only look good, it’s obviously been put together by people who know what they’re doing. At first glance, the coil shock gets your attention, which normally means a lot of travel. But for the Tyke, however, this is far from true. The rear only offers 130 mm of travel and the FOX Float 34 Factory fork comes with a 140 mm of travel – a proper trail bike then! If the coil shock is too heavy for you, you’re welcome to switch to an air shock. Even though the frame is optimized for coil shocks, the Bionicon Tyke will accommodate almost all metric and non-metric shocks.
Bionicon designed the Tyke around 29" wheels and should shine on steep trails with its geometry. For example, the head angle sits at 65.6° and the chain stays of the rear triangle are kept at a stable yet agile 436 mm. The final length of the front triangle has not yet been decided, but is expected to be modern and therefore long. The final version of the Bionicon Tyke is planned to weigh 13 kg but unfortunately, you will not see one on any trails until the end of 2018.
