The wait is finally over! The launch of the 2018 Canyon Strive models has been as hotly anticipated as everyone’s next pay rise and now the new line-up has finally been released. Here’s our run-through of Canyon’s hot-to-trot enduro bikes for the coming season.

The Strive is already a classic in the enduro racing scene and a common sight on the toughest trails all around the world. In our recent enduro bike group test under € 4000 , the 2017 model was able to gather many plus points – the Strive is still one of the most sought-after bikes in the segment. Anyone hoping for an entirely new Strive for 2018 will be disappointed though – Canyon is keeping the original frame for the fourth season in a row, only offering new specs and colourways.

The Canyon Strive is built to take some big hits.

The geometry of the Canyon Strive 2018

The Strive’s geometry remains unchanged from 2017. Introduced last season, the XS and XL option remain, giving customers the choice of 5 frame sizes in total.

Improvements to the spec

In order to keep the Strive up to date in its fourth season, Canyon has further tweaked the specs. For 2018 the Strive will be available with 1-by drivetrains only with 5 out of 6 models running SRAMs 12-speed Eagle groupsets. All models now get a 170 mm fork up front, a good choice for the intended purpose. Many welcome details from last years bikes get carried over too, like the 150 mm dropper posts on all M, L and XL bikes.

Canyon Strive CF 2018 models

The carbon version of the Strive CF will be launched in four complete builds in 2018. The entry-level carbon model comes in at € 3,499, which is € 300 less than last year. The top specced team model Strive CF 9.0 Team keeps its € 5,499 price tag. Two aluminium models complete the lineup for € 2,799 and € 2,399 respectively. The carbon bikes are available in either stealth black or in the new blue and black team paint job, the aluminium bikes come in a Gun Metal finish or a poppy Lizard Lime option. Overall the bikes have become a bit cheaper or offer better parts when compared to last year’s models. Our value for money tip is the Strive AL 6.0 that leaves hardly anything to be desired for a fair price of € 2,799.
