Double the Trail Action: Dakine Trailfox Bike Festival and European Enduro Series in Flims
Flims, 20 February 2014 – This Summer is going to be hot! At the Dakine Trailfox Bike Festival from the 4th – 6th July 2014, the foxes will again rock the freeride trails in Flims – and on the same dates an international racing series will stop off at the venue, meaning double the excitement! For the twelfth staging of the cult bike race Dakine Trailfox the race format, program of side events and name of the event have changed slightly. Now competitors can also register for individual races only – so there are now three individual rankings for the three races as well as an overall ranking. All Enduro fans can expect an additional highlight – the new European Enduro Series presented by XS Power Drink is making its only tour stop in Switzerland during the Dakine Trailfox Bike Festival in Flims. Both the events are centred around the rocksresort at the Laax valley station.
The Dakine Trailfox is known as the mother of all freeride rallies and is a firm date on any racing calendar. Every year, around 300 riders from all around Europe set out on a pilgrimage to Flims to compete with other trail foxes. But it is not just victory that counts in the Dakine Trailfox. The competitors and the spectators love the trail action, the atmosphere and the “coming together” the event offers. The new “Dakine Trailfox Bike Festival” name gives a clear indication of the festival atmosphere for this twelfth edition of the event. But the festival theme is not going to be reflected in just the name as the racing format, the locality and the event’s side program have been changed slightly for this year. Also, the simultaneous tour stop of the new European Enduro Series is set to lend the event additional prestige.
The change to the race format, with new individual race rankings, means it is up to competitors whether they register for individual races only. However, those staying loyal to the traditional race format and completing all three races have the chance of standing at the top of the winner’s podium in the overall ranking. An even broader program of side events, a diverse culinary offering as well as a extensive exhibitor’s area, showcasing the latest products and trends from the biking world, will ensure that boredom does not set in between the competitive action. The new locality in the rocksresort at the Laax valley station lies centrally and is easily accessible by public transport and car.
Registration for the Dakine Trailfox Bike Festival 2014 is scheduled to start in mid-May.
