Next to the final version of the FR 1950 Classic, which we presented earlier on as the FR 1950 Gravity Classic, the highlight was the new and cheaper Spline Two wheel-set by DT Swiss. But the highlight for most of the visitors was an especially worn-out rim, ridden on the metal by a certain DH legend….

DT Swiss Spline Two 2015 wheel

DT Swiss extends its portfolio, introducing the Spline-Two, which takes the successful DT Swiss Spline-One line-up as an orientation. They are priced at less than €600 per set and are therefore cheaper. Straight pull spokes, a carefully shaped and polished hub and other DT Swiss technologies can be found within the Spline Two wheels, which exude high-quality.

The DT Swiss Spline Two series combines three different wheels with different weight classes, available in sizes 27,5″ and 29″. The E 1700 Spline Two are predestined for Enduro usage. The set weighs 1860g in a 27,5″ and 1920g in an 29″ version.

The M 1700 Spline rim’s width falls at 22mm and weighs around 1700g (27,5″) and 1800g (29″). The X1700 Spline Two are lighter at 1600g (27,5″) and 1700g (29″).

DT Swiss FR 1950 Classic wheel 2015

The good-looking DT Swiss FR 1950 Classic wheel was introduced by us in aprevious article.
Only the name and design has changed since the feature.
It is delivered with a classic lacing pattern with 32 crossed spokes.

A set of wheels with a rim’s width of 27.5mm will only be available with 27,5″ wheels. It comes with the DT Swiss patented “Ratchet System” and is produced with 240s hubs, competition spokes and aluminium nipples by DT Swiss.

A nice memory was presented of the Worldcup race in Leongang this year: the rim that stole the show as legendary downhill rider Aaron Gwin rode it on the metal, all the way to the finish. The EX 471, made for Enduro, looks quite torn, but has proved its durability.
