We couldn’t fail to notice the all-new Baron Projekt tyres at the Continental stand. Having appeared as a prototype at EUROBIKE 2014, the tyre is now finally ready and will soon be available for general purchase.

Continental regard their Baron Projekt tyre as the ideal tyre for virtually any ground conditions. With lugs that are spread wide apart, the grip should be massive and prevent the tyre from clogging up with dirt on loamy ground. The width of 2.4″ helps here too. Available from select retailers, the tyres are tubeless-ready and come in 26″, 27.5″ and 29″ sizes with a price tag of 79.99 €. With packaging that was designed alongside Rie:sel Design, the tyres will cleverly come together with the right mudguard for the forks, for example. Be aware though, this isn’t a purchase to think too hard about – each dealer will initially only have a limited supply of 10 of each piece.
Without mudguard but including the tried and tested Apex carcass, the weight hovers around 985 g (27.5″).

As the tyres focus primarily on providing the necessary grip, it’s best to leave you with the images to form your own impression, as we haven’t yet had time to take them for a test ride.
