or those who haven’t yet stumbled across 7Mesh, it’s a small company based in Squamish, BC, set up by former employees from one of the bigger outdoor apparel companies. Their current collection was on display at this year’s EUROBIKE, featuring certain concepts designed specifically for riders.

Revelation Jacket

The first product revealed by the Canadians was the Revelation Jacket, created with the familiar GoreTex Pro membrane and uniting a high level of water resistance with breathability. There are large side vents under the arms to ensure airflow is unhindered, and sweat can escape. By taping the seams, there’s little likelihood of water entering while riding.

Already available for purchase, the 7Mesh Revelation Jacket is tailored specifically for mountain biking.
Neben der GORE-TEX-Membran sollen Belüftungsöffnungen im Fall der Fälle für Durchzug sorgen.
Not just windproof and waterproof thanks to the GoreTex membrane, the jacket has enough air vents to keep you cool.

Specifically tailored for riding, the jacket has a slight drop back and the shoulders are cut wide – as a result, no matter how much effort you’re exerting or how low you’re riding, the jacket remains comfortable. The front takes a tighter tailoring to prevent bulking up as you’re riding. The medium size Revelation tips the scales at a mere 270 g and the jacket is in stores and online already.

As it’s tailored for riding, you could presume it’s not quite suited for day-to-day wear, and you’d probably be right. However, it does come with a steep price tag, and 450 € is a pretty large sum.

Recon Short

7Mesh created the Recon shorts to complement their Recon jacket. Thanks to the loose fit, comfort is a given and the windstopper material does its utmost for your upper legs. Just like the Revelation jacket, the seams are once again taped and the cut has been primed for mountain biking.

Dank WINDSTOPPER soll die Hose auch bei Wind und Wetter ein guter Begleiter sein.
The use of windstopper materials means these shorts can casually be pulled on whatever the weather.

The shorts are due to be released towards the end of the year and the final price is yet to be announced.
