For many of us getting to ride with the likes of Cedric Gracia seems like an unrealistic dream but a group of riders from Norway got that opportunity when they joined Cedric for a fun camp, to not only ride with him but learn some of his techniques too! Jordi Bago joined Cedric and told us how they go on in the following text:

This last week we have been in Trysil, Norway for our new series of CG FUN CAMPS with lot of trails to suit every age and ability. During this camp we had a day for girls only and we were surprised by the skill level and commitment shown by them on the trails, there was also a big evolution and progress shown throughout the camp! Cedric and myself were both really happy and pleased to see the girls pinned on all the trails with no problems, well done girls!

In the Radisson Blue Resort we had in front of the hotel a nice bike gym with various lines of drops, slalom, whoops and turns to practice before venturing onto the actual trails. At this time we also had the chance to demonstrate to the all the riders how to move their body position on the pump track to benefit their speed on the trails for features such as jumps and turns. The best example of this was the trail with 40 whoops, this is where all the riders were using the technique several times to let them see how their body movements of push and pull allowed them to get more speed!

We had some nice trails with perfect ground, they guys did a great job in the bike area. We used this to demonstrate the techniques we had shown on the pumptrack, using their body positioning to attack corners and berms and also for the jumps. We found that with every run we completed the guys progressed more and more throughout the day!

Time to take the new skills to the trails.

Trysil has great all mountain and enduro riding, with nice routes to climb to the top and with great trails and wooden sections that make enjoyable and comfortable ride even uphill. During the camp we had a visit from one of the living legends of MTB, Rune Hoydahl. The kids he is taking care of now will be great riders in the future, they already have a lot of skills!

The time we spent in Norway was great, even when the rain made a visit, the conditions of the trails made it possible to ride with no problems! Having some trails with muddy and rocky sections threw up some new challenges for the riders but after showing them how to ride these sections they all improved massively and enjoyed the day!

After the ride we had a nice dinner together in the hotel’s sportbar, this made a great atmosphere with all the guys that had enjoyed the camp.

Smiles all round after a good day on the trails.

Thanks to all the people who made this camp in Norway possible ( MTB chicas, Trysil, Trysil bike Area, Radisson Blue restore, and Santa Cruz Norway )
