Fox Head Clothing Launch New ‘Outlast the Elements’ Range
Fox Head clothing have a new range for those that like to layer to get the right coverage in all weather conditions. We take a closer look at the new range to see what we can expect for the winter months.
A lot of the best clothing and equipment in mountain biking has been developed from the motocross industry where they know about hard hits and tough weather conditions. Fox Head clothing have been designing and manufacturing for the motocross industry since 1974, and the mountain biking industry for a good few years too.
Autumn is coming but that doesn’t mean that we’ll be out riding less – it’s all about the layers!
Fox Head have just launched their new outerwear season in preparation for getting wild in the rain. Fox Head know that we’re all different, we all ride in different weather conditions at different paces so we all need different layers and fabrics.
Fox Head DOWNPOUR PRO jacket
Fox Head’s full bells and whistles jacket, top quality fabrics and high level waterproofing come together in this stylish looking jacket. Heavy weight construction and motocross inspiration means it should last many a season of riding through whatever nature can dish out. The top-of-the-line DOWNPOUR PRO uses a durable three layer Trumotion 4-way stretch fabric with seam sealed construction and abrasion resistant Cordura patches in areas likely to see some action. The DOWNPOUR PRO Available in blue/navy and red/black for €290.
Fox Head DOWNPOUR LT jacket
This Fox Head DOWNPOUR LT weatherproof jacket promises windproof and waterproof layering. It’s a breathable, seam-sealed jacket boasting versatility and clean lines. The jacket uses a 2.5 layer 2 way stretch fabric with a Truseal waterproof and windproof membrane to keeps the weather at bay. With a full sealed seam construction, water resistant zipper pockets and abrasion resistant Cordura patches, we can see this being a great jacket on the trails. The Fox Head DOWNPOUR LT jacket is available in black/charcoal, and blue/yellow colorways for €220.
Fox Head BIONIC PRO softshell
The BIONIC PRO is perfect for when it’s getting cold outside, with a three layer construction it claims water and wind resistance as well as breath-ability. It’s a ride specific jacket so expect it to be cut for movement with a low drop tail. Using 3 Layer DWR treated water/wind resistant soft-shell material with a bonded mesh lining for comfort. Abrasion resistant Cordura and reflective patches complete the package. Colours available will be Navy and Black and cost €190
Fox Head BIONIC LT softshell
The BIONIC LT is a lighter weight version of the soft-shell, using the same 3 Layer DWR treated water/wind resistant soft-shell body, but with a lightweight mesh on the back and arms to increase your ventilation and breath-ability and will retail for €150.
Fox Head RANGER jacket
For ultra lightweight pack-ability, the RANGER jacket is designed to give you both water and wind resistance while being small enough to stow in your pack. Made out of a DWR treated 100% Polyester body the RANGER is extrmely lightweight and pack-able, and comes with two hand pockets in either lairy Flo Yellow or Black
Fox Head EQUILIBRIUM jersey
Designed for layering or just keeping you cosy when the rain isn’t falling the Equilibrium boasts moisture wicking fleece and strategic venting panels to keep you comfortable. The jersey is loaded with features, with a Trudri moisture wicking fleece main body, full zip front with high collar and chin saver, zipper/stash pocket with headphone port, full coverage drop tail and optics wipe inside hem. The EQUILIBRIUM will be available in Heather/Navy and Black/Charcoal colours.
Fox Head DOWNPOUR shorts
To match the DOWNPOUR jacket, Fox Head also offer a durable 3 layer Trumotion 4 way stretch fabric DOWNPOUR short. With a Truseal waterproof and windproof membrane, welded construction with sealed seams, water resistant zipper pockets and reflective details, the shorts look fully loaded to take on the grim winter weather. The DOWNPOUR shorts will be available in Red/Black or Navy for €155.
It’s already raining outside, so we will bring you a full review very soon. We like the distinctive style and the new colours are likely to get some attention on the local race scene.
