Livigno prepares for the mountain bike season
Summer is slowly finding its way into the alps and Livigno is ready for the mountain bike season. With the diverse network of trails and great riding conditions, Livgino is always worth a visit. More information in the official press release:
Livigno’s summer is going to be really magic. Carosello 3000 continues with the construction of their innovative trail network of flow style mountain biking trail, considered the new frontier in the mountain bike universe. The trails will be accessible from Saturday, June 18 with the opening of the gondola Livigno Center (access to the Roller Coaster), while from Saturday, June 25, the gondola Carosello 3000 (San Rocco zone) will give access to the complete trail system. The inauguration of a new flow trail going through the woods is scheduled for the same date.
The flow-trails are constructed in a symphony of turns, berms, rollers and rhythmic jumps, while the slope is never more than 10 degrees. From beginners, families to pro riders everybody can ride and enjoy 15 kilometers of trails according to their own skill level. This new purpose-built type trail network is based on speed and rhythm ensuring the required safety to beginners, and a roller coaster sensation to expert bikers (see all the trails).
The first flow-country trails were opened last year by no other than one of the pioneers of mountain bikingHans “No Way” Rey and the Scottish star Danny MacAskill who said: “ I rode already with Hans all over the Livigno valley and mountains in the past and now riding the new flow country trails as a pro rider I had the same thrills and enjoyment. These trails are fun for any kind of rider, you don’t need a special downhill bike”.
But what Danny MacAskill saw last year, is not all. Since then, Carosello 3000 has continued the construction of the new mountain bike trail network. The project, in fact, is very large and many more kilometers of trails are planned for the next two summers. The “3K Up & Down” event is scheduled for Sunday, July 31. 150 participants will be chasing a pro rider, trying to see who can rider the 13 km loop most. Last year record was 9 times.
The new flowtrails will be added to the 30 km of already existing trails and dirt roads, like the popular Val Federia tour, all accessible by lifts. Another popular trail leads bikers and hikers to Madonon one of the most incredible viewpoints in the entire Livigno valley.
