Alright party people, it’s time for you to get your game face on and rock the house! Time for you to get vocal and show how awesome it is where you live. Tell the world how the trails in your area can butt heads with anywhere. But not only that, tell us why the beers in your hometown are great. Local Heroes

That’s right, we want to hear from you. This is your chance to really shine an awesome light on your home trails and favorite local hangouts. We’re not writing a guidebook and we don’t want to turn your small town into the next Mt. Everest garbage dump that every Tom, Dick and Harry tourist will come and be obnoxious in. But we do want to throw out some huge props and thank you’s to the people that make mountain biking such an incredible thing the world over. We want to pat on the back the movers and shakers, the influencers and the guides of all the awesome places to ride, around the world. And we want to give thanks to you, the riders, for sharing some true local knowledge.

Best trails, best burgers, best cafes, places to crash for the night and really anything that new visitors would want to know when they come visiting. Travel is the pedal stroke that gets the world spinning and is one thing that we can all get ridiculously pumped about. And the best thing about traveling for mountain biking: the riding locations are getting better and better and the list of kick ass spots is growing like a crazy rhino with it’s ass on fire.

And now, for really the best part. We’re giving away some SRAM Guide brakes to the best submissions. If you tell us, and we use your info, you’re entered. Every two months, we’re giving a set of Guides away. How’s that for some home cooking?

Some Guidelines to Follow

The best rides are undoubtedly the ones where you bump into a local rider, that chance meeting with someone who knows all the best trails, the little secrets that escape even STRAVA. This article is a chance for you to tell the world more about why you love your own trails!

1. Tell us about you!
We will put together an introduction and we will need more information about you, please send us a paragraph about what you do, what you ride, why you ride and how long you have lived in the area!

2. Why are your home trails great?
3 – 5 paragraphs with pictures about the nature of the trails, rocky, flowy, natural, who builds them etc.. Also talk about getting to the trails themselves, do you need to be experienced in big mountain riding, are the trails waymarked. What’s the weather generally like and when is the best time of year to visit. Also mention what bike may be best, is it really rocky so a 160mm bike would be idea, or smooth and flowy? Also keep it personal to you, why do you love riding there, what is the scene like, good buddies you would like to include?

3. And what about when the riding is done?
2-3 paragraphs about what you can do when you have finished riding, this will also be covered specifically in the hot list, but maybe not.

4. The Trail Directory: 5 Trails you really must ride while in…….
Be as effusive about the trails as you can, what are they like, why are they cool and why should we seek them out. This can be entire loops, or just short sections of trails, which trails would you show a good friend! Do not feel the need to mention local secrets that may upset hardworking trail builders, or mention trails that are illegal.

5. The Hot List: 5 things you should do while in ………..
Other things to do while in the area, make this more than just bullet points, expand on each feature with a short sentence or two such as *Visit the Traquair Arms Pub – check out Scotland’s biggest display of whiskeys, the Coalisla is single malt heaven and they always have a fire going so you can dry off your kit!
