There are probably not many riders whose racing careers were interrupted by major injuries as often as Matti Lehikoinen. It was always incredible how he came back after each injury. In the last two years things quieted down around Matti though, his last downhill race was in 2012. But now he announcing his return to racing for this years Enduro World Series!

Even though he was not racing in the last two years, you could see Matti at nearly all Worldcup Races, coaching the norwegian Downhill Team. For 2015, he’ll continue this work, but will also participate in some of the EWS races, the European ones at least. He will be riding for Nukeproof and Mavic.

We’re happy to welcome another downhill legend to the enduro racing circuit and are excited how he’ll perform. In 2014 at Finale Ligure he was 22. without really doing any proper training, so he’s someone to keep an eye on for sure!

The guys from Wideopen mag catched up with Matti in Portugal and asked him what he’s been up to and where he’s going.
