With a field of world class riders, the sixth round of the Coupe de France Enduro Series took place in Val d’Isere. Here’s the official race report:

At the end of august the weather may be a little tricky in the Haute Tarentaise territory but luckily this time it was not the case and the race started saturday under a beautiful sunshine and kept on under nearly warm temperatures on sunday despite a cloudy sky.
Some world level pilots were also there to spice up the race, such as Jérôme Clementz, Adrien Dailly , Cedric Ravanel , Nicolas Casadei or Nicolas Quere among Senior Men and Cécile Ravanel and Isabeau Courdurier for the Female category.
Of course these pilots came there to fight for the win of the round. And, as we could expect it, Clementz will finally take the win in front of Dailly and Ravanel in front of Courdurier.

Their entry also enabled to measure the french pilots current level and to realise that the french « pilots nursery » is still very succesfull. Some young guns are already pushing hard. The first of them is no doubt now Sebastien Claquin. In spite of the pressure of his number 1 plate the young pilot won’t crack, neither in front of his main french cup challenger, Ludo Oger, nor in front of the world class top pilots. Sebastien will even win 2 stages out of 5 and become with great style the 2015 french enduro champion.
Ludo Oget will chase him during all the week-end before admitting Sebastien was stronger this time. Ludo will unfortunately hurt his hand in stage 4 and won’t be able to fight until the end of the race.

b

The young Camille Servant finishes 4 in Tignes and therefore wins the 3rd overall in front of a more experienced Yannik Pontal and a strong Baptiste Gaillot.
In the femaly category consistency paid and Axelle Murigneux handled perfectly her last race to finally save her overall title in front of Morgane Such and Anaïs Laroubine.
No surprise for the Master 1 and Master 2 overall titles. Gilles Doze and Patrick Bonifay only had to handle their leads from the previous rounds.

c

In the Junior category Valentin Brulas wins a keenly contested overall. A fair reward for a talented young pilot who often took place in the Top 10 Scratch during the season. The Junior category, rich of more than 50 good pilots, is also a real reason of satisfaction for the race organisers.

2015 calendar was well off and various and certainly enabled each pilot to find his favourite race format or venue. And it was no doubt one of the best Enduro Series ever. Sold out entries for each venue and high quality stages, the challenge for the organisation in 2016 will be to find a calendar at least as consistent, the same challenge, year after year.
New dates and venues will be unveiled at the next Roc d’Azur.
