EMTB Enduro Mieroszów 2014 is over and we can admit that it was the hardest race we’d ever made. Spectators were ecstatic, racers were challenged – it’ll be remembered for a long time.

The fun started on Wednesday when we published the track and first riders checked special stages. Some of them were confused – they asked us if we had marked the map correctly, because some sections were almost unridable. But it wasn’t a mistake.

We finished on Friday with bike movies viewing, thanks to materials given by Enduro Me and Another Country crews. The shots were great and the sites epic, and definitely worth visiting.
The racing began on Saturday morning in the Town Square, where 115 racers were welcomed by the city mayor and quickly briefed by EMTB crew. They went through the check point zero and headed for special stage number one.

This year the race route included vast variety of different trails. We took off with an exiting city prologue, that consisted of the recently opened singletrack in Bike Arena Parkowa Góra, followed by a path through the city park, the town hall, narrow streets, stairs and footbridges. The local crowd was cheering and riders did their best. There were some mishaps – a few punctured tubes and bruised elbows. But everyone definitely warmed up and was ready to attack next stages.

Mountain stages really challenged the riders – we threw the book at them. Everybody had a chance to try everything Mieroszów offers. We changed the definition of steep and added turns and loose gravel, jumps, narrow singletracks meandering through the woods and sweat-dripping liaisons. And all that in beautiful surroundings of Suche Mountains. To make sure the racers appreciate all the picturesque sites they passed we have taken a few photos. You can see them here.

It was really exhausting, especially in the lasting heat. The level of endurance necessary to complete the race was massive – after last special stage racers were congratulating each other on finishing the race!

In the meantime, Pumptrack Jam Session took place on Bike Arena Parkowa Góra. Piotr Szwedowski showed everybody how to pump efficiently. They did great, even the little ones. Racers, watch out for the next generation of riders!
The day ended with HooDoo Band concert, official race closure and winners decoration ceremony.
