On October 12, 2014 the second edition of METAL – Enduro Mountainbiking was organized in the South-West of the country in the small town of Resita. The first edition was in November 2013, being the first enduro mountainbiking event in Romania, and opening the door of several other events of this kind. METAL, the name of the competition, comes from the industrial tradition of Resita, but is also an acronym for Mountain, Enduro, Trail and All mountain.

METAL Enduro has evolved and is on the way of becoming one of the most attractive competitions in Romania, for those who are up for the challenge, of course. There were 4 stages that together with the transfer routes made a total of 33,6 km with an elevation of 1.451 m. The race had 84 competitors at the start line organized in two categories: man and women. The best of this year were (from 1st to 3rd place): Sorin Parau, Simon Cobianu (the winner of last year’s edition) and Mircea Fanatan for the male category and Alexandra Boca, Florina Martina Cont and Larisa Cobianu for the female category.

All the special stages were single trails, very different as rhythm and as approach, but mainly forests with natural obstacles, rocky zones combined with smooth trails that allow full speed.

METAL is organized 100% through volunteer work by Bike Attack Association a volunteer-based organization of passionate, local mountainbikers.
