The inaugural Trans-Rezia All Mountain Enduro 2016 is now well underway, with racers taking on the rugged trails of the breathtaking region of Valtellina and Valposchiavo, deep in the heart of the Italian and Swiss Alps. Twenty privileged racers are tasked with six days of blind racing on hidden trails taking in the best the region has to offer in terms of riding and hospitality.

The headline racer coming into the event was certainly that of all-conquering EWS champ Tracy Moseley, who would take her place on the starting line, but unfortunately, two other top flight EWS racers, Jerome Clementz and Rae Morrison were forced to pull out from the event. On the trails with Tracy would be the likes of James Shirley, Denny Lupato, Nathalie Schneitter, Simon Gegenheimer, Rachael Walker, Rebecca Baraona, Meggie Bichard and ENDURO Magazine racer Stuart Wilcox to name a few.

With twenty-four stages stretched across the six days, riders will be tested both technically and physically with the race organiser not shying away from pedalling and uphill sections in stages. The race will utilise a mix of shuttles and uplifts (including helicopter!) but mainly pedalling power. Starting in Santa Caterina the riders will weave their way through the region finishing up in Aprica.

Our racer Stuart Wilcox will also be racing aboard his Nukeproof Mega 290, collecting power data and chasing the field, and Ross Bell will be shooting the action. We will bring you news of the race progress in the next few days, and find out more about the challenge of racing the Trans Rezia!

We look forward to seeing the race unfold over the next few days.
