The UK Gravity Enduro is a multi stage event, run over a weekend. Riders must sign on before commencing practise at 09.30 on the Saturday, they are free to practise until 15.30, when a seeding run takes place on stage 5. This runs into a DH style finish arena, with live TAG Heuer timing for 2013, the purpose of this is to sort fast riders from slower riders, the finishing order from seeding dictates running order on all of Sundays 5 stages, order is slowest first in each category.
There are 5 stages on Sunday, leaving the finish arena at 09.30, there is a quick check to make sure all racers have left for stage 1. Stage 5 on Sunday again comes back into the DH style finish arena, the TAG system has GPS so stages should be live at arena when racers return, another first …
The biggest category is Masters, the 30-40’s or the 2.4 kids and a Volvo cat, as its known This year sees British Cycling adopting the format fully, there are no licenses required, if they become license holders, then they will be awarded points and get an official UK ranking for Gravity enduro. Helmet and gloves are compulsary on stages and body armour is highly recomended!
