Do you ever look at an awesome mountain biking video and think, “why don’t my GoPro or iPhone videos look like that?”. Well, it can be pretty frustrating for professionals, too. Filming and refilming the same shot for hours on end just to get that 5 second clip can be pretty laborious. If you’re an aspiring mountain biking film director and want to refine your skills to get your next shot noticed, then Tom Malecha and Gabriel Klouda may be here to help.

For the third year running Tom Malecha (Filme von Draussen) and Gabriel Klouda (Inspired Mountain Bike Adventures) are teaming up once again to welcome a maximum of seven aspiring film makers in lush mountains of the Swiss Alps for their summer Film Making Workshop. Tom, a renowned outdoor film producer who’s films have accumulated millions of views on a number of online video platforms, is once again prepared to share his in depth knowledge of creating attractive story lines, the craft of getting killer footage and let’s not forget the complex techniques of editing.

You don’t need fancy, expensive equipment to make a professional mountain biking film…

Tom is a firm believer that it is entirely possible to create powerful and eye pleasing films without relying solely on expensive equipment and an impressively fast pro rider. From their base in a luxurious chalet perched at 5000ft above Sion, Switzerland, they’ll guide you out onto some the best singletrack in the Alps and teach you how to apply all the advice and lessons Tom is able to squeeze into seven days. With some of Europe’s highest snowcapped peaks as a backdrop (glaciers included) everyone will be sure to get the footage they need. Evenings are planned around lessons in post production to best optimise the footage and match the wanted storyline.
