We report a lot on the ‘CG Fun Camps’ due to its rarity of anything anything near to the level of training it offers. An ex downhill turned enduro riding legend, all your mates and a heck of a lot of riding…who could resist?

Well, Cedric Gracia hosts the camps, and this one was a pretty special one (sorry for you guys who attended the others). Slovenia held host to this camp, and luckily enough, Privee was offering a frame for one of the participants and Spank Team/MTB Republic was giving a G-Shock watch to the first 15 riders who signed up. Sounds pretty tasty!

Cedric Gracia is the official instructor...so if you're one of those guys who think you're above the rest, think on

The first day entailed all aspects of riding in the Mountain Nomad Bike Park, consisting of tones of flowing trails, great terrain and an incite into the technical aspects of riding. This area is home to ‘EcoHotel’, a dedicated riding and mountain biking hotel, actually run by a lovely family who offers shuttles up and down the mountain if you ask! Lunch and dinner were also on offer for all the riders of the camp, which was a great time to check through all the video footage of the days to explain where they’ve progressed and what needs working on, such as bike set up, body geometry and for some, a heck of a lot of other bits and bobs too!

In the afternoon we sent all the guys to the Pezen Family Trail…The only way to describe this is 12km of flow line. Oh sweet Jesus! Full of berms, tabletops and all the way down from 1600m to 450m meant more than 1000m of drop. A perfect line to follow each and every rider to check and teach them everything they needed to know throughout the day. The best part? The train. Everyone following everyones lines in unison and it was absolutely fantastic. I guess the only way you can find out how great it is to come along and try it yourself!

The second day consisted of a lot of driving to the famous ski resort of Kranjskagora. A huge variation of riders of all ages and abilities turned up, so we checked out the levels and balance on there bikes through a custom slalom course before heading out on the trails.

A fantastic day ensued and training went exceptionally well. Drops, turns, roots, berms and body positions were all covered before unfortunately, the rain decided to ruin our fun! “Cedric and myself, for the first time after many camps, had the chance to show and explain how to pass and ride over wet roots and rocks on trail that were covered in mud!” It was great to ride with the guys in such hilarious conditions and a lot of funny crashed littered the trails.

The day finished with dinner with all the guys, reviewing clips and photographs from a fantastic day of riding. We can’t wait for the next one!

The camps are open for everyone from all walks of life. So whether you’re 16 or 60, Male or Female, beginner or expert, they can help you out and you’ll enjoy riding a heck of a lot more after the camp!
