TweedLove – the ten day cycling festival in the iconic Tweed Valley launched its full programme this week – featuring over 20 events. Some events are already booked out, so organisers are encouraging early entry if riders want to make sure of their places.

Running from May 24 – June 2, TweedLove encompasses everything from enduro racing on some of the best singletrack the UK has to offer to bivvy nights in the hills and free guided rides, including the ever popular Natural Tweed, a group ride into the hills on natural trails.

The POC King and Queen of the Hill Enduro has already sold out all 400 places, but there’s still a few spots left in other events – such as the newly sculpted dual slalom and the tough but fun seven hour Glentress Seven race.

Neil Dalgleish, director of TweedLove, said: “This year’s festival is the biggest in our four year history, and entries are definitely going faster than they ever have.

“The second weekend of TweedLove coincides with the BDS round at Innerleithen – and some of the biggest names in global downhill have confirmed they’re going to be there. There’s going to be a real buzz in the Tweed Valley as TweedLove and the BDS help set the stage for the first round of the UCI World Cup at Fort William the following weekend.

“Scotland is definitely the place to be this summer if you’re a mountain biker. And just because you’ve ridden Glentress don’t think you’ve seen all the Tweed Valley has to offer – we’ll be opening up trails normally closed to the public and guiding rides in parts of the valley you didn’t even know existed. But if you want to take part get your entries in quick – most events are expected to sell out within the next couple of weeks.”
