Buying a bike used to be easy, you would simply save as much money as you could before buying the most expensive bike that budget allowed, then tell your partner it cost half as much.

The best bikes used to be the most expensive bikes, but now everything has changed. There are no bad eggs anymore, no boneshakers, the best bike for you is the one that makes you smile the widest. When it comes to choosing a new bike, there’s nothing that beats getting your bum on a seat, and the best place to find seats is at a demo day. On the 9th – 11th June, Tweedlove, the organisers of Scotland’s biggest and best bike festival, will be running the UK’s biggest Demo Day on the trails of Glentress.

Tweed Green, the place to be during the Tweedlove Bike Festival

Who will be at the Tweedlove Mega Demo day?

The event will focus on mountain, road, gravel and the latest E-MTB’s from an astonishing 22 brands, and with easy access to the amazing trails of Glentress, it will be the perfect way to check out the latest technology. Tweedlove explain “The demo sessions will run from Friday through to Sunday, with some demo slots available for advance booking online, and the remainder available on the usual ‘first come-first served’ basis on the day. A dedicated MTB demo loop will take in some great trails in Glentress forest, while the road demo loop will access the quiet and scenic tarmac surrounding Peebles.”

Tweedlove have managed to attract some very interesting brands, such as the gearbox powered Zerode Taniwha.

How do I attend the Demo Days

So, are you in? If so, Tweedlove outline what you need to do to take part. “Taking part in the demo costs £10 per day for registration but no additional charges and very generous demo sessions. We’ve kept the cost to an absolute minimum but if riders plan their day well they could easily spend it trying bikes that add up to over £35k!

Glentress is the perfect place to test a bike on varied terrain.

The UK doesn’t currently have an event like this but it’s time it did! This is the year that TweedLove Bike Festival has really arrived. It’s what we’ve always hoped we could do, with some of the world’s best enduro riders lining up side-by-side with weekend racers, roadies alongside mountain bikers, kids and family riders sharing the vibes with serious pro athletes. And so many beautiful bikes to admire. We all love the good times we have because of our bikes – that’s what TweedLove’s always been about.
