Weapons of Choice – racers and their bikes at the EWS in Finale Ligure

Martin Maes – GT Sanction

Martin finished second in Finale and showed once again that at the age of 20 he is one of the strongest riders in the Enduro World Series
Martin has been racing the EWS on a GT Sanction for three consecutive years now. Incidentally, the head peeking out of the water in the background is GT Factory Racing team mechanic, Mark Maurissen.
The chain stays of Martin’s GT Sanction is 1 cm shorter than on the production bike, which makes the bike has a more agile, according to Martin
Martin also has his multi tool, an EDC tool from OneUp Components, hid in the steerer tube.
In training, Martin had a RAD damping cartridge installed in his FOX 36 FLOAT shock, a prototype from the FOX Racing Application Development
For the race Martin was back on what looked like the well known compression damper with separate high and low speed dials.
