Moving away from the base of Jaén, the 2016 Andalucia Bike Race race made a one day stop in the town of Andújar before it moves onto Cordoba for the final three days. The morning began overcast but soon heated up along the action as the riders undertook the 72.3 kilometers of stage and 1852 meters of ascending. Once again it was Sally Bigham and partner Katrin Leumann who took the spoils in the women’s category in a time of 3:43:11, the pairings of Rocio Martin / Maria Diaz and Jamie Dinkins / Laura Terradas followed behind. In the men it was a battle to the line between Alban Lakata / Kristian Hynek and overall leaders Periklis Ilias / Tiago Ferreira. It was the Topeak pairing who came out on top this time with a time of 2:59:31, however Ilias and Ferreira hang onto their lead going into day four.
