Back in issue #017 , certain products were put through their paces in our lab – the trails of the world. Here’s where to find out how the ONZA IBEX tyres fared in case you missed it the first time around!

Der Onza Ibex-Reifen
The Onza Ibex tyres retail at 53.90€. Are they worth every penny? How did they cope in the long-term test?

Requirements for a tyre go on and on… they have to offer grip, roll easily, and wear as little as humanly possible. Now there’s a tyre that scores well when it comes to all the above: the ONZA IBEX, which Christoph has been riding for almost eight months. Weighing 932g, the tyres have a fine 120 TPI carcass and a dual-compound rubber, which renders it deft at adapting to the terrain and winning us over with its in-built damping. The market may have tyres with more grip, but none of these can rival the lifespan of the IBEX. Converting to tubeless was also simple. During testing, the tyre performed exactly how you’d like it to on pretty much every terrain, apart from in muddy conditions when it lacked a depth to its profile. They come in all three wheel sizes, and those heading out frequently for long rides should take a closer look at the 29×2.25″ model.
