Bell Super Air R Unveiled – a new, lighter trail helmet with removable chin-guard

With the Super R and the Super DH, Bell already have two full face helmets with a removable chin-guard in their portfolio. With the Super Air R the American brand introduces one more, even lighter option for trail riders.

With the Super Trail R, Bell wants to round off their range of helmets with a removable chin guard. Being the lightest model, it’s aimed at trail riders who are looking for extra protection.

With a weight of just 640 g, the Super Air R is considerably lighter than any other Bell full-face helmet with removable chin guard. In the event of a crash, the MIPS and Flex Spherical systems allow the two “helmet shells” to rotate against each other in order to reduce the impact force.

In the event of a crash, the inner and outer shells rotate against each other. Borrowed from motorsport, the Flex technology reduces friction between the two layers.

The Bell Super Air R retails at $ 299.99 and looks great even without the chin guard. You can also order your helmet without the additional guard, and order this separately if needed. This option goes under the name of Bell Super Air and costs $ 259,99.

The chin-guard can be secured quickly and easily via two metal clips
Elegant and practical: the discreet Super Air logo retains the goggle strap
