Best Value: IXS Trail RS Evo

After the IXS Trail RS catapulted to the top of many lists, we were excited to see how its Evo evolution would fare. Boasting new colours and visuals, the IXS Trail RS Evo also has a revised adjustment system and comes in two additional sizes. Making it super-easy to nail the sizing, the four-point system has adjustable straps, and the majority of the test riders approved of the fit as soon as they put it on. The retention band is robust and the adjuster is simple. The IXS is well-manufactured, although the narrow EPS strips between the individual plastic covers look fairly budget when you get up close. It’s arguably a cool-looking lid without being too attention-grabbing, so it’s likely to appeal to a ton of riders. The visor only has limited adjustment, but because it’s so short it doesn’t really matter. A good all-rounder with solid ventilation, soft chin padding, and a great fit, the IXS Trail RS Evo is a hit for comfort-seekers.

The IXS Trail RS Evo might be the second-cheapest lid on test, but its performance is a level above. Superbly designed and sporting a great fit, this is our buyer’s tip – providing it fits your head.
