The last round of the Chaoyang Brasil Enduro Series took place in Vale das Videiras, a wonderful village located in the city of Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro.
After a very successful opener round in Campos do Jordão, São Paulo, the organizers of the series raised the level of the event, with tracks more technical than usual, with tight liaisons and lots of nice views along the way.
“It’s been part of the evolution of enduro in Brasil- and to our series development- to put tracks that would welcome new riders to the enduro scene. Even if we put in the past very long and technical tracks, like the Latam tracks in Urubici, our approach has always been to bring more riders to our events. But we feel like this “stage” of the sport in our country is changing and we are on a mission to step up the level of the tracks. Vale das Videiras had a steep and technical first stage, with a lot of off camber sections and loose terrain” – said Théo Duarte, one of the series organizers.
The weekend of racing had sunny days and nice temperature. On Saturday, the riders took a ride to reckon the 3 stages of the race and verify what was needed to complete the liaisons of the Sunday’s race.
On the Elite the winner was André Bretas (Specialized) with the final time of 10:23, followed by Wallace Miranda (Fox Head / Chaoyang Tires / Aparecida) with 10:42. Third place was Diego Neumann (Santa Cruz Bicycles) with 10:43.
“The race was spectacular! The 3 stages were very well designed, finding a balance between technical and physical characteristics. The first stage was different than usual and we hope that the next stages will always like that”- said the overall and elite winner Andre Bretas.
