The mission of the Design & Innovation Award is to shape the bicycle world in a positive way. It also serves as a forum for creativity, visionary ideas as well as the industry’s most innovative products. More than 40 experts from 10 countries joined this year’s event to test, analyze and judge the best and most innovative products of 2016 in Kronplatz/San Vigilio – Dolomites. The Award recognises either outstanding product design and function, or innovation that sets a new standard and inspires future product generations and forward-thinking approaches.
SRAM GX Groupset
It was a long wait for a 1×11 drivetrain that was affordable, but the wait is now over. The SRAM GX groupset brings the same high-performance shifting and wide-range cassettes to a price point that make it affordable for the average rider. GX shares the same reliable function as its more expensive siblings, with only a small increase in weight. You will have to look at a higher groupset for multi-downshifts, but aside from that, it’s near perfect. 1x drivetrains are simple, efficient, and the perfect solution for trail riding; for the rider looking for performance on a budget, the new SRAM GX is a revelation.
