Enduro Asia MTB is the love child of Sam Middlehurst, an avid rider, Asia veteran and a stalwart of the local Kuala Lumpur MTB community. To Sam, Enduro MTB is all about going back to the basics of why people ride their mountain bike. “We all love riding with friends. Social climbs, a break at the top, and then trying to beat each other down the descents. Enduro Asia MTB simply formalises this bike race for you”.

Enduro Asia MTB has created the middle ground that is currently missing in Asian mountain biking. The focus of each event is on creating atmosphere, community and competition to unite different types of riders under one format. Events aim to showcase the best riding on the best terrain available, and are designed to challenge both technical and fitness riding, by incorporating various aspects of mountain biking including: downhill, cross-country and trail riding. The end result is a fun racing format which you can ride with friends that tests your allround mountain biking skillset.

At the first event at Bukit Kiara on 21/22 September 2013, expect to see top international racers and ‘average Joes’ riding together on narrow single track trails which thread their way through lush tropical jungle. There will be lots of ups and downs, and some spectacular views of Kuala Lumpur’s impressive skyline on the way. If you own a trail bike, consider yourself a weekend warrior and enjoy riding with friends, then get yourself signed up for Malaysia’s first Enduro race! The race has two categories, the Men’s Open and the Women’s Open, for riders 16 years and above.

Following this launch race, Enduro Asia MTB is planning to expand to a series of flagship races held across South East Asia, to enable an increase in brand reach and penetration. The race series will be looking to showcase the best riding terrain across the region in cool destinations. Enduro Asia MTB is currently looking to select the next race venues, with other Malaysian destinations (Penang and Kota Kinabalu) and destinations in the neighboring countries of Thailand (Chaing Mai) and Indonesia (Bali, Malang) being considered.
