The fanciest new helmets from Eurobike 2016
Giro Chronicle and Switchblade-Helm
With two new entrants on the helmet market, EUROBIKE saw Giro launch both the Chronicle and the Switchblade with its removable chin guard. Channeling many of the same design cues as the well-known Montaro helmet, the Chronicle sports a different cushioning design that has led to a drastic drop in price. With MIPS, the Chronicle retails at € 120, but can also be bought without MIPS for just € 100. Unlike the Montaro, the sides of the Chronicle drop down a bit lower; a feature that’ll please some riders. Plus, there’s a great range of colours to choose from.
Richie Rude has been flaunting the Giro Switchblade at a number of EWS races recently – and for good reason: it’s the only helmet to date that meets the ASTM 1952 Downhill standards with or without its chin guard. This race-worthy option retails at € 299. Check out this article for all you need to know about the new Switchblade.

661 EVO AM Patrol-Helm
A staple of the 661 collection, the Recon has now met its match with the AM Patrol, seeing the brand create some healthy competition for their own long-running favourite. While the new EVO AM Patrol shares certain aesthetic genes with the well-known 661 EVO AM, the change in the foam, absence of a magnetic fastening and the revised fit system have seen a subsequent drop in the new lid’s price, reputedly retailing around € 40 less than the EVO AM.

Urge Archi Enduro RR+
The Urge Archi Enduro was the first full face helmet tailored specifically for enduro riders. Some months ago Urge introduced the next generation Archi Enduro RR, with the race ready badge setting clear statements on the intended field of application. At Eurobike the French brand takes it even further with the limited edition Archi Enduro RR +, that features a unique, integrated goggle. The patented goggle mounting system allows riders to put on the goggles one-handedly, making it ideal for the racing environment. The limited edition will retail for € 399 and the goggle system will be available separately to retrofit on any RR helmet.
