Somewhat of a success over the past few years, Norco have now announced the release of their revised Range for 2017. Now available with 27.5″ and 29″ wheels like the latest Optic and Sight models, what else has changed on the Range?
In keeping with the brand’s wheel size developments for the Sight and Optic models, the latest Norco Range also comes in two hoop sizes, with the brand claiming to have lent the same ride characteristics to both the 27.5″ and the 29er. It comes in three identical build specs for both wheel sizes, with prices ranging from € 3,999 to € 7,199.
The Frame of the Norco Range 2017
The new Range covers XS to XL, although the XS and S are limited to 27.5″ hoops. The 27.5ers have 170 mm front suspension and 160 mm at the back, while the 29ers have 160 mm up front and 150 mm at the rear. All of the models have a Trunnion-mounted rear shock and internally routed cables that are fixed at entry and exit to eliminate clattering.
The Geometry of the Norco Range 2017
While developing the Range, Norco definitely turned their focus towards the descents, giving it a 65.5° head angle that’s so slack you’d rarely find one to match it on a 29er, especially when you add in its super long 461 mm reach (size L). The Range also welcomes chainstays that get longer based on the frame size to ensure that weight distribution is optimized for each model.

Our thoughts on the new Norco Range 2017
We’ve not had chance to put the Range through the wringer yet, but its geometry figures are super promising and we’re hyped to see how it’ll fare on some gnar. We’re expecting it’s just a matter of time until the 29er crawls its way up the wish list for many racers. Stay tuned for our first impressions from the trails as the Range 9.2 has literally just landed in our editorial office.
