GHOST FR AMR 2019 – Ghost present a fun rig for bike park sessions and demanding terrain

The GHOST FR AMR has always been aimed at riders who want a robust bike for rough terrain and bike park sessions. For the new model year, GHOST’s fun long travel bike has undergone a few updates and received a revised spec.

With 165 mm travel and a robust spec the GHOST FR AMR is designed for riders who hit the trails hard

Aesthetically the new frame of the GHOST FR AMR reminds us of its predecessor but in reality it’s been revised in many aspects. According to GHOST, the rear end is now significantly stiffer — the additional bracing and larger tube cross-sections are responsible for this. This will benefit both the overall riding experience and reduce the load on the bearings and rear-shock. The suspension offers 165 mm of travel and includes a coil shock at the back and a 170 mm fork on the front. Despite the generous travel and robust spec the FR AMR should still remain a versatile option for longer rides.

Geometry of the GHOST FR AMR

With its 64.5° head angle and 466 mm reach in a size L the geometry is noticeably slacker and longer than that of its predecessor. Despite the dominant downhill genes the FR AMR should still be a good climber not least because of its relatively steep 76° seat angle. The GHOST FR AMR is available in 4 sizes.

The strong downhill-DNA asks for powerful brakes…
… unfortunately Ghost opted for 2-piston brakes and 180 discs on the rear-end of all cheaper models
In return the grippy Maxxis Minion Double Down tires are the perfect choice for a bike in its league
