How to service the MAGURA TS RC rear Shock Air Chamber

We don’t need to tell you that fully functioning suspension is crucial for your bike, so regular servicing is obviously essential. Besides cleaning the piston after every ride, MAGURA recommends annually servicing the internals of the TS RC rear shock. And here’s where we tell you the score.

How to

Wie immer bei Arbeiten an den Federelementen muss auch für den Luftkammerservice zu Beginn die Luft abgelassen werden.
As always when working with suspension, you first need to release the air.
Dann einfach von Hand die Luftkammer abschrauben.
Simply unscrew the air chamber by hand.
Wenn die Kolbenstange abgezogen wurde lassen sich die Dichtungen alle erreichen. Sollte ein Luftvolumenspacer verbaut sein muss dieser ebenfalls entfernt werden.
Once the piston rod has been removed, you can reach the seals. If you’ve got air volume spacers in place, then you’ll need to remove these too.
Mit dem Schraubenzieher vorsichtig die Dichtung im oberen Teil des Dämpfers entfernen.
Using a screwdriver, carefully remove the O-ring from the upper part of the shock.
Mit zwei Fingern die Dichtung zusammendrücken, und diese dann über die weiße X-Dichtung ziehen.
Press the seal on the piston using two fingers …
... und diese dann über die weiße X-Dichtung ziehen.
… and then pull this over the white lock ring.
Im Anschluss die X-Dichtung entfernen.
Then remove the lock ring..
Dann auch in der Luftkammer die Dichtung ...
Then remove the seal from the air chamber …
... und die X-Dichtung entfernen.
… and the support ring too.
Im Anschluss alle Teile mit Entfetter reinigen und einem Tuch abwischen.
Clean all the parts with degreaser and then wipe them down with a lint-free cloth.
Die neuen Dichtungen mit dem Magura Meister Grease fetten und dann wieder nacheinander einsetzen.
Grease the new seals with the Magura Meister Grease and put back on in the same order.
Gut gefettet werden die neuen Dichtungen eingesetzt.
The shock will now have new rehydrated seals.
Bei der X-Dichtung muss auf den korrekten Sitz der beiden Enden geachtet werden.
When replacing the lock ring, make sure it is the correct way round.
Bei der Luftkammer muss darauf geachtet werden die Dichtung nicht mit dem Abstreifer zu verwechseln.
In the air chamber you have to pay attention to not mix up the seal with the dust wipper.
Auch die Luftkammer noch einmal ordentlich fetten ...
Put some more grease onto the air chamber …
... und dann wieder auf den Dämpfer aufschieben.
… and push it back on the shock.
Am Ende wieder den SAG-Ring aufschieben und den Dämpfer wieder im Rad verbauen – Fertig!
At the end just install the SAG Ring back on the shock – Done!
