SANTA CRUZ, CA – June 21, 2013 – The California Enduro Series is proud to add the Mammoth Mountain Kamikaze Bike Games’ Enduro on September 8 as a special event to the 2013 schedule.

While the KBG Enduro doesn’t count for points towards the 2013 series, racers will be stoked on the exciting and challenging venue.

“Mammoth Mountain is legendary in mountain bike racing – think back to the days of John Tomac and Missy “The Missle” Giove on the Kamikaze Downhill! – and a big part of the mountain bike scene in California,” says Steven Gemelos, Director of the California Enduro Series. “We are excited to add the KBG Enduro as a bonus event to the 2013 California Enduro Series and we’re looking forward to the challenges Mammoth will bring to the table for our riders.”

Bill Cockroft, Senior Vice President at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, is excited about the partnership as well, “Bringing on the California Enduro Series as a partner with the Kamikaze Bike Games is a great blending of old and new-a great way to kick off the rebirth of this year’s Kamikaze Bike Games. We’re very pleased to have them onboard.”

Participants can expect to ride roughly 19 miles on race day with approximately 1,000 feet of climbing and more than 4,150 feet of descending. Racers will encounter three timed, primarily downhill, stages along this route as well as three transfers, which are untimed, but mandatory, and include a climb of about six miles as well as two lift-accessed transfers. With a field limit of only 300, this event will sell-out quickly.
