With the dust still not having settled from the demise of the UK Enduro, leaving a source taste in the mouths of UK racers, it couldn’t be a better time for a tried and trusted UK MTB race industry guy to make return to organising races. Pedal hounds was a fantastic series from back in the 90’s and early Noughties, having hosted many a ‘filled to capacity’ DH race back in the day.

Paul Hunt, a British Championship Motocross ace from back in the day, is still a mad-keen mountain biker.

Organiser Paul Hunt has been quietly getting in amongst it in the British races of late, loving being back in the race scene and always a popular upbeat guy with those who remember his races. He has checked out the various formats of racing and come up with his own unique style, with some off-season races to be held down in the South of England between Autumn 2016 and Spring 2017.

Fond memories of fantastically well run races from UK DH days of old, Pedalhounds never used to disappoint.

As Paul states “We’re getting back to the true ethos of enduro – there will be no practice before the racing starts, although the stages will be available for inspection on foot the day before and on the morning of the event giving everyone a level playing field”

The race format will be:
• 3 laps of between 2 to 5km in length
• 4 to 5 timed short gravity fed stages per lap
• Each stage will be ridden 3 times
• Stages can be ridden in any order, mash-up style
• All stage times will be added together for the final result

This format will give riders between 12 – 15 timed stages, a lot of riding for your entrance fee! The races will be at tracks using a mix of old and new venues. Entries for the first race to be held on 2nd October will be going live at 09.00am Saturday the 20th August.
