News: Schwalbe presents the final Procore-System for 2015

There have been rumors about the new Schwalbe Procore system. But it is already clear that the system carries two air chambers. One evening after demo-day, Schwalbe revealed the new system, and it was immediately obvious they had made some new clever changes. Initially prototype versions had two valves, requiring modification to the rims, but Schwalbe presented the system with just one valve. Additionally, there have been some changes to their range of tyres too.

The Schwalbe Procore system proved itself able to handle the pressure on the race cicuit over the last couple of weeks. Nico Lau won the Enduro World Series races in Scotland and Sam Hill, the last Downhill Worldcup in Meribel, both riding procore.

As already mentioned, the main idea of the dual-chamber system is that the tyre is inflated by two separate chambers. The outer one, directly under the tread of the tyre, is filled with low pressure air (15 psi) or less. This guarantees high grip. The inner chamber is filled with high pressure (4-6 bar), in order to stabilize the tyre. This enables the tyre to survive severe changes of direction. Up-till now, one couldn’t risk riding the bike with less than 1.5 bar. The risk of snake bites or rim damage would’ve been to high if trails are rocky.

Schwalbe offers the procore system as a complete package: it comes with rim tape, tube, the inner tyre, tyre lever, tyre sealant and an easy fit assembly kit.

In order to guarantee air stream into and out of the inner chamber, Schwalbe developed a special air-guide. Because of built-in channels, the air can flow into the outer chamber.

The price for the Procore System (enough for two tyres) is set at 179 EUR and is available from January next year.

Not only was the Nobby Nic introduced, which you can read about in our previous article. The popular rear tyre Rock Razor will available in a 29″ version from now on. The Magic Mary can be bought in a 2,5″ version and in a long lasting, as well as cheap, 1,5kg version.

Furthermore, every EVO Tyre-Model has received an update. It is now easier to fix them tubelessly onto the bike. This new technology is called “tubeless easy”. The threads of the popular SnakeSkin carcass have been updated, which guarantees a higher density and an ideal weight.
