The VP-Aim was developed at the request of FMB Diamond tour rider Sam Reynolds. According to Sam, “I wanted a pedal that had a large platform for landing tricks, but also had a traditional dual-concave shape for grip.” His preference was also to have something thin and good-looking. VP immediately saw an opportunity to create a pedal that would make a top pro-rider happy, could cover anything from park to dirt to regular trail rides, and most importantly NOT break the budget.

The Aim features a die cast alloy body with a dual concave pedal shape. It has a forged and heat treated CNC machined Chromoly axle that spins on LSL and Sealed cartridge bearings. Combined with a low 18mm stack height, the pedal looks better and feels better. The platform size is quite large, measuring a square 105mm with 8 replaceable steel traction pins per side. In addition, the pedal’s bearings are located apart as far as possible in the body for added support. The Aims weighs 425 grams for a set.

“Because we design the VP-AIM in –house and manufactured it in our factories, we are able to sell them at a reasonable price while not sacrificing performance”, stated Erik Saunders, Brand Manager for VP Components. “We’re really proud of the VP-AIM and feel they deliver the right feeling of control and security while still being thin, durable and stylish.”

Even though the Aim was developed with some of the top freeride athletes in the world, VP is excited about the pedal for use on any bike that uses platform pedals including commuter, city, BMX or mountain bikers. The VP-Aim is available in black and silver and has a MSRP of $60.00. The VP-AIM is now in stock and shipping from distributors KHS, BTI and VP-USA as well as local shop partners: Encina Bicycle Center and Oakridge Bike Shop.
