Let’s be honest: For most of us, all we need in life is a trail bike. We like to rip up our home trails, and we often sit on the saddle for hours on end, relying on our own human power to get up hills, simply to enjoy the view from the top and to seek fun and flow on the way back down. The bikes in this comparison are made for the adventures of everyday life!

During Usain Bolt’s record breaking 9.58 second 100 m at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, it has been estimated that his terminal velocity was 43.9 km/h with a power output of 2619.5 watts. Now, with power like that, you may think his shoes are the hardest working on the planet, but we would argue that mountain biking shoes have it even tougher.

If you strive for more than mere survival when the temperatures fall, and want to actually enjoy riding in cold conditions, follow our guide and put the ‘win’ in winter.

Jérôme Clementz is the very definition of a top-level enduro athlete and the friendly face of world enduro. He was also our first Enduro World Champion – but now that we heard on the grapevine that he is hanging up his EWS boots, it was time to catch up with the people’s champion to find out what is going on.

It seems like love at first sight, and admittedly, the RADON JAB 10.0 looks damned good! But for a lasting relationship, it’ll take more than good looks. Is the RADON JAB good for more than just a short affair or is it better to sneak off the next morning without an exchange of names or numbers?

What does the ROSE PIKES PEAK have in common with a good bottle of red wine? Both need time to mature, both share a strong aftertaste and both require a fair amount of knowledge to be fully enjoyed. If you pick your bikes like you do with your vino – by looking at the label – you wouldn’t consider the ROSE at first – but that would be a mistake!

Enduro bikes have evolved dramatically over the last few years, and Ruben Torenbeek as a designer and engineer for one of the biggest names in the game has been actively involved in their evolution. Ultimately, however, no bike from any one the major brands could fully convince him. So he launched his own brand: RAAW Mountain Bikes. We interviewed him to find out more about his motivation to do so, why he thinks he can do it better, and to get the inside scoop on the first RAAW bike, the Madonna.

Staying fit during winter or in the city, on two wheels, and having fun while you’re at it. Sound impossible? Hardly! We’ll show you how to stay in shape over the winter and how you can improve your riding skills at the same time.

Norway has been a country that has long sat in the depths of my mind. Enchanted by daydreams of towering snow-capped mountains separated by ribbons of blue water, unspoiled singletrack snaking through the shrub and silver-birches… oh, and the abundance of attractive natives. I’ll let you decide which of the above fantasies played out.

As of right now, all the exciting articles can be downloaded from our interactive tablet or smartphone app, and they’ll make their way onto the website over the next few weeks. Have fun reading!
