Here’s a preview on some of the highlights from this issue
It’s likely hard to find a mountain bike better known than the venerable Specialized Stumpjumper. It’s been on the market for almost 40 years and has always been one of the benchmarks in its segment. Earlier this year, Specialized introduced its latest version and we’ve had a chance to extensively review the Stumpjumper Expert 29.
With its shock hidden inside the frame, the Bold Linkin Trail caused a sensation when it was introduced. With the Bold Unplugged, the Swiss brand has upped its game once more, introducing a potent bike with radical geometry. We’ll tell you if the bike lives up to its promise, and which boxes to tick in the configurator.
Why are bikes always sold without pedals? The answer is simple: personal preferences. Some swear by the freedom of flat pedals, others prefer the fixed connection of a clipless mechanism. In both cases, the pedal is the most important point of contact with the rider and is crucial to how we feel on the bike. We compared the best pedals for trail and enduro riders in our big group test.
“29ers aren’t for short riders…With such a long bike, you won’t be able to corner!” You hear and read prejudices like this all the time. We have already shown that radical geometry works for tall riders, but would it work for a 1.60 m rider on the – still huge – Pole Evolink 140 in size Small.
Good tools should be cherished, looked after and passed down to the next generation. Our ENDURO editorial team certainly knows how to wield a 5 mm hex key and over the years has amassed a serious collection of personal toolkits. From magazine production and testing, to EWS races and holidays, our team presents to you its personal favourites.
From the motley bustle to complete silence: At over 1,800 m you can shop duty-free in the midst of many three-thousanders, enjoy mountain bike trails at every skill level and inhale endless amounts of outdoor excitement. We started the explorer mode and looked for the less known corners of Livigno – and found them!
