What are you currently obsessing over? A new bike? A holiday? A new job? Now we all know that dreaming is great, but making dreams come true is even better, and that’s exactly what we’ve done inside this issue.

We tested 17 high-end enduro bikes and spent a day with Veronique Sandler to find out how she made her dream of a professional career come true. We also visited Beast-Components and went for a lap in Squamish with Josh Kissner, a Product Manager at Santa Cruz. On our trip to Canada, we left the crowded trails and took a closer look at three rather unknown riding spots.

The Highlights

  • Airtime guaranteed – a day with Vero Sandler
  • Dream trip: three insider riding destinations in Canada
  • Fast and fun – the Ibis Ripley tested
  • Factory visit at the carbon experts of Beast Components
  • Service 2.0 – what makes NICOLAI’s bikes so special?

What to expect in this issue

One thing is certain: enduro bikes are booming and the choice and variety of bikes has never been better. We gathered the current most exciting models for this group test and put them through their paces. What is the best enduro bike of 2020 and what should you look for in a bike?

Bump into Josh Kissner out on the trails and one thing is certain: you’ll never find him without his backpack, laden with test parts and tools. That makes more sense when you learn that Josh is a product manager at Santa Cruz and plays a significant role in the development of their bikes. We joined him for a ride in Squamish to chat about Santa Cruz, his role in the company and the future of the sport.

Your heart’s going at 200 bpm, your legs are on fire and there’s sweat running down your brow. You actually wanted to go for a relaxed ride but, once again, things have escalated aboard the Ibis Ripley. How did this happen?

Bike trips to Canada usually follow a fairly similar route: fly into Vancouver, taxi to Whistler, and embark on three weeks of party laps at Whistler bike park. Now while we’ve got nothing against railing the world-class A-line and Dirt Merchant trails, there’s so much more in this vast land that’s worth riding. We headed to British Columbia’s eastern region to get better acquainted with three amazing destinations.

Veronique Sandler is one of the most progressive riders in the “new-school” freeride scene. We spent a day with her and found out how she made her dreams become reality.
