Fresh off the back of a 13th place in Argentina at the second round of the Enduro World Series, Spanish racer Iago Garay looks to be in a strong position for the remainder of the season. With the Irish EWS looming large we’ve taken a close up look at Iago’s team Santa Cruz Bronson which he will compete the upcoming Emerald Enduro on.
We were in Spain checking out Black Town Trails who Iago guides with in between racing, so it would have been rude not to have a closer look at his Bronson too!
Iago runs a Bronson 2 CC Frame in size large with standard ‘out of the box’ geometry, using no angle-sets or bushings. Up front is a RockShox Lyrik Boost fork with 160 mm travel. Iago runs 3 bottomless tokens with a slow rebound. On the back is a RockShox Monarch Plus Debonair with 5 volume reducers, again some as the fork with a pretty slow rebound and a 30% to 35% sag on the shock depending on the track.
Iago’s cockpit is kitted out in Anvl components, carbon bars are cut down to 770 mm.A short 35 mm stem with several 3mm spacers between the stem and the frame. Iago doesn’t change the stack height, instead opting to swap bars between a 20 mm and 30 mm rise.
Iago spins on a full SRAM XX1 drive train …
The XX1 cranks are 170 mm in length, equppied with a 34T chainring and have an e13* guide and bashgaurd for extra security. The axles of the Crankbrothers Mallet E pedals have been swapped out for the burlier downhill versions.
SRAM Guide Ultimates are paired with a 200 mm rotor on the front and a 180 mm on the back.SRAM Roam 40 wheels are paired with …… Maxxis rubber front and rear. High Roller II in the 3C trail casing are the weapons of choice, a pressure of 1.7 bar up front and 1.8 on the rear.
The little details, its fair to say Iago’s bike stands out with its colour scheme and decals.Do you?
One of the most stylish racers on the EWS circuit, putting the Bronson to work.
Keep up to date with Iago’s racing on his Facebook-Page.
