Propain Tyee CF – Carbon Fiber Enduro now in Production
Propain states that the limited first edition of the Tyee CF made a real impact. With its pretty, light frame weight, harmonious design and well thought-through component built it was an immediate hit. The limited first edition quickly sold out but the 2016 versions are now live and ready to order. Read more in the official Press Release.
Beautiful design, a sensational frame weight of only 2.3kg (for size M) and high stiffness: Carbon is currently the most advanced frame building material, offering many advantages to achieve the low weight and high stiffness. Besides the improvement in frame material, Propain’s engineers worked closely with their team riders to further improve the geometry and to build the perfect Enduro race bike.
The light weight and exceptionally high stiffness is the result of making use of the most advanced methods in carbon manufacturing. Other manufacturers often produce carbon frames from several pieces which are then glued together in a subsequent process. Propain’s Tyee CF front triangle is molded in one piece without any additional bonding. It is a more cost-intensive process but allows for better stiffness while being lighter at the same time.
A closer look at the new Propain Tyee CF shows many user-friendly solutions and great attention to detail:
- BSA bottom bracket for ease of use and best compatibility
- Clean look through internal cable routing with large holes
- Exchangeable ISCG mount
- Derailleur hanger design which offers the best possible protection of the carbon structure
When put to test, the Tyee CF’s carbon fiber frame performs exceptionally well which should not come as a surprise since quality control is an absolute priority for Propain. During the development process each frame has to withstand hundreds of thousands of load cycles and overload tests which by far exceed industry standards. The result is the new Tyee CF frame. Robert Krauss, Head of Development at Propain, gives us a brief glimpse into the test procedure at Propain´s own test lab.
The Propain Tyee’s Pro10 suspension system is specifically designed to maximize the performance of lightweight mid travel air shocks. Based on the experiences with the Tyee AL throughout the past years the Pro10 Suspension design of the Tyee CF has been refined and is the latest evolution and most optimized Pro10 to date. The rear end got more progression to allow outstanding small bump sensitivity and big hit capabilities in one package. The Pro10 suspension system separates the forces caused by braking from the rear suspension which gives you full suspension performance even while braking into the next turns.
The frame design has been optimized to minimize pedal kickback and reach 100% Anti-Squat-Performance for the best possible uphill experience. Combined with the proven downhill capabilities of the Pro10 suspension system the new Propain Tyee CF offers perfect balance for the new generation Enduro race tracks.
Propain has completely relaunched their website and now offers a lot more choices: new homepage, new bike configurator, new component build kits and an extensive Free-Program.
