Yesterday at day 2 Santa Cruz Pacific Andes 2015 was one of days that will be
remembered.

Fabien Barel had a good day but not good enough to win the stage, which was won by Nico Lau.

Nico Lau was seen fast all day, attacking on all special Stages which gave him the victory of the day. It’s clear that the battle for the first place will be between these two French.

Chris Johnston is pushing hard, the first day arrive in fourth place and now came in third place, that ranked him in the third place in the overall standings.

After a nice sleep at camp 1 in Antawaya riders were taken to the top of Ruco Lata
area that is south of the Rio Molina and it can be seen from the top of Farellones if you
look to the south.

The bad news of the day was the crash of Nico Prudencio that left him with a knee injury that forced him to retire.

In the morning we started with 3 special stages that were very fast and with open
parts where the riders had to navigate to find the singletrack. Then the riders
returned to Antawaya where they had lunch and then climb back into the vans to
Condorera area.

In that place at 2500 meters high began the final 3 special stages totaling 2,500 meters
descended from day two.

The day 2 stages were flat out high speed.

The overall race remains dominated by Fabien Barel with a lead of 15 seconds over Nico Lau that is attacking hard to take the lead.

In the ladies division, Chilean Florencia Espiñeira leads the overall of the classifications followed by the English girl Rachel Walker. Third is the North American Sarah Rawley.
