Race Report | URGE 1001 Enduro Tour #7 – La Brigue
After Sospel, l’Escarène, the Vesubie valley, Roubion, the Portes du Mercantour and Gourdon, the ninth edition of the Urge 1001 Enduro Tour (enduro championship of Maritime Alps) ended on October 25th at la Brigue, in perfect conditions: sun, 3 awesome special stages prepared with love by the VTT Haute Roya in the pure tradition of french enduro (including fast and flowy lines, technical parts, switchbacks, physical pedaling, bikeparks portions and an urban final on the old streets of la Brigue), colorful forests, smooth sol as we love in autumn, flawless organisation, and 221 riders present to enjoy the last enduro of the season.
Among them, many stars: Florian Nicolaï, Guillaume Cauvin, Olivier Giordanengo, Dimitri Tordo, Adrien Dailly… and mostly Nicolas Vouilloz, who left no suspens by taking the 3 scratch times and the win, 9 seconds in front of Florian Nicolaï (2nd) and 19th of Dimitri Tordo (3rd).
On the female race, Nadine Sapin won in front of Julie Duvert and the scottish Emma Holgate. By the same time, the serie leader Olivier Giordanengo ensured his 2nd title (8 years after his first sacre, in 2007!) by taking the points of the 6th rank at la Brigue, just in front of his two trackers of the year general ranking : Rémy Quillévéré 2nd and Grégory Favrolle 3rd.
In the categories, the winners are: Julie Duvert (1st girl for the second consecutive year), Yoann Tadyszak (1st cadet), Alexi Cuellar-Primo (1st junior), Florian Nicolaï (1st senior), Grégory Favrolle (1st Master30), Olivier Giordanengo (1st Master40), Théo Bertarini (1st Master50) et Laurent Solliet (1st e-bike).
