RockShox PIKE 2018 – The evolution of a legend

Rockshox extensively overhauled the PIKE and optimised it for the use on trail-bikes. Now it’s even lighter, smoother and generally more stable. You will find all details in our First Ride article on the new PIKE. The new PIKE is available in 27,5″ and 29″ options, both offer room for up to 2,8″ wide rubber. The completely re-developed Charger 2 damper unit allows for a wider rebound-and compression adjustment range. With its bigger negative air chamber, the DebonAir air-sleeve is supposed to improve the responsiveness of the fork. The new PIKE is now compatible with the OneLoc-remote. It’s available in the usual RCT3- and RC-versions.

RockShox Lyrik 2018 – more performance thanks to Charger 2

For the upcoming season, the Lyrik will remain the enduro-flagship fork in the RockShox line-up. For the new season, RockShox provided the Lyrik with a Charger 2-damper unit. The Lyrik already featured an oversized negative-air chamber last season, and so does the new PIKE. Enduro-racers will be looking forward to having an “on the fly” lockout option, for short sprints, directly on the handlebar, in the shape of a OneLoc-remote. The Air-Pressure-Guide on the lower leg has been updated and now also includes guidelines for the use of the Lyrik on E-MTBs.

RockShox Yari – a number of upgrades for more performance

The RockShox Yari shares the same chassis with its top of the range brother, the Lyrik, as it did last year. Also, the DebonAir- and/or the Dual Position Air systems are identical. Some compromises are to be made merely with the Motion Control IS damper unit. In thi, case RockShox renounced the closed Charger system. The Yari is solely available in an RC-version, still, both rebound and slow-speed-compression can be adjusted externally. The air pressure guide printed on the lower leg has been updated and is now also including guidelines for the use of the Yari on E-MTBs. The new PM 180-mm brake mount makes it possible to use 180-mm discs without the need of an adapter.

RockShox Revelation – the PIKE’s little sister

The new RockShox Revelation has grown some impressive muscles, now sporting 35 mm stanchions. It’s using the same casting as its bigger sister, the PIKE, and the same DebonAir air sleeve. As it was the case for the Lyrik/Yari equation, also for the Revelation/PIKE comparison there are small compromises to be made as far as damping settings go. The Revelation is available in both 27,5″ and 29″ with tire-width up to 2,8″ (and a 27,5″ x 3,0″ option for the 29er). With travel options ranging from 120 to 160 mm it offers a light alternative to the Yari in this category. For their Revelation, RockShox have decided not to offer a Dual Position Air option for adjustable travel. It is compatible with the OneLoc-remote.
