SRAM wheels are found on more and more bikes these days and now the American bike parts giant introduces its newest addition to the lineup. The SRAM ROAM 60 carbon wheels feature 30 mm wide rims, which is a huge departure from the 21 mm width on previous ROAM wheelsets and could make them an attractive option for trail and enduro riders alike. Furthermore, SRAM will be offering standalone hubs in the future, covering a wide range of applications. All the details on the new products come directly from SRAM:

First Impression

We are firm believers in the benefits of wider rims: most tires can be run with lower pressures, increasing both traction and safety. Hence, we are excited to see SRAM joining the marketplace with their ROAM 60 wheelset. The new ROAM 60 do not only overtrump previous ROAM wheels (21 mm inner width) in terms of rim width but also the burlier RAIL series (23 mm inner width). This makes it hard to classify the wheels, but SRAM states that they are equally suited for trail and enduro riders. We are looking forward to riding the new wheels in order to find out how they perform under real world conditions.

The new products are available from April 2016, more information on the SRAM website.
