Topeak Microshock

Microshock is an apt name for this pump – it’s as thick as a permanent marker, and not much longer, making it the lightest model we tested. Of course, so much minimalism has its price. The Microshock offers very little pumping output with a lot of resistance beyond the 200 psi range. It doesn’t have a pressure gauge or a pressure release button either, but thanks to the control ring, the latter can be remedied by releasing the head slightly while the control ring is still screwed in to release pressure.

The handle can be locked by rotating it as with the Shock ‘n Roll – but unfortunately, this also happens accidentally while pumping. Overall, it’s an absolute emergency pump, but for the price, it’s quite an interesting option.
