Birzman Zama

The Zama is an inch shorter than the already tiny Topeak Microshock, but due to the stylish and sturdy aluminium housing it’s slightly heavier. It hasn’t got a pressure gauge or pressure release button either. The trick with the control ring we had with the Topeak Microshock doesn’t work here, unfortunately – it doesn’t have one. That’s a shame because the performance of the pump is surprisingly good for its size.

The number of strokes required is significantly less than with the Topeak and the resistance beyond the 200 psi mark remains bearable. As with all Birzman pumps, the head is knurled and grippy, but it can be difficult to turn under pressure and the hose is quite short, which may lead to space problems in some circumstances.
