Lezyne Digital Shock Drive

Lezyne’s digital shock pump is a stunner. The black and gold aluminium housing looks very flash and thanks to the vertical display it’s super compact too. The pumping output is on par with the RockShox or Syncros models, and though the resistance is a bit higher, it’s still reasonable. While it weighs only half as much as the competition, using the pump reveals some weaknesses. The pump head is quite big, is a bit slippery and doesn’t screw on easily. The pressure release button is somewhat exposed and it’s difficult to get a firm grip on the pump to push against while pumping.

There is a rather large deviation in the pressure displayed and the battery doesn’t last long. The slim design means the pump only takes CR 1220 battery with a 35 mAh capacity. For reference, the CR 2032 in the RockShox has a capacity of 210-230 mAh. You’ll have to decide for yourself whether the looks, compact design, excellent output and low weight outweigh these disadvantages.
