The Lab | San Marco Dirty Native Pro Saddle
Since 1935 San Marco has been producing some of the highest quality kit, so we decided to test out one of their newest saddles so you don’t realize your mistake after you invest your hard earned money. Originally featured in Issue #016, so either read on here for this review, or check out hundreds more in the magazine!
The 155g light Dirty Native Pro saddle has had a lot to put up with over the past eleven months: almost 2,000 km of riding, numerous filthy wet rides, several crashes, and countless wash cycles. While the top, saddle cover, and carbon rails appear completely unfazed by all this, the Kevlar side reinforcers have almost entirely worn away to reveal the plastic shell.
Even if this hasn’t (yet) affected the saddle comfort, it does look a little scruffy. Our tester concluded: “The compact form and the amazing compromise between weight and stability are definite winners, but in terms of durability I feel a bit let down.”
