YT Industries unveils all-new Carbon Enduro Bike: the Capra
After two years of development, YT Industries unveils theír all-new 650B enduro bike – the “Capra”. With its aggressive geometry, pretty lightweight carbon frame and well-thought specs it claims to combine top downhill performance with XC-like climbing abilities at an interesting price point.
“Capra Ibex” – the mountain goat – was eponymous for the bike and the main goals during the development: “We wanted to design a unique bike, that feels like a full-grown downhill rig while still going uphill like a xc bike. Of course this goal sounds unrealistic at first, but we still tried to reach them as close as possible” says YT Industries’ CEO Markus Flossmann.
Aggressive Geometry
To achieve the high set goals, YT put a lot of effort in the geometry of the Capra: While the head angle (65,5°) is rather slack to provide maximum smoothness at high speed, short chainstays (430mm) shall keep the bike agile in more technical terrain. The seat tube angle of 75° shall provide an efficient position on the bike.
Frame – strong & light
The Capra uses the same V4L (Virtual 4 Link) suspension-platform as YT’s other gravity oriented bikes. Depending on the build it offers 165 or 170 millimeters of rear travel.
Capra Pro & Capra Comp – The Specs
